How to use the extension

    Pin the extension

    Click the puzzle icon in Chrome's toolbar, find FixMyPrompt, and click the pin icon. The Fx icon now lives in your toolbar.

    Browse to a supported AI chat

    Visit ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, or Grok. Type a prompt into the chat input — but don't hit Enter yet.

    Click the floating Fx button

    A floating Fx button appears next to the input or near the bottom of the page. Click it. The QA panel slides in with a 0–100 score, weak spots, and an improved prompt.

    Apply or copy the rewrite

    Click Apply rewrite to replace your input with the improved version, or Copy to grab it. Then hit Enter and get a better first-shot answer.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

I don't see the Fx button on ChatGPT.

Refresh the tab. The extension injects on document-idle, so a hard navigation may need one reload. If it still doesn't appear, click the toolbar icon to confirm the extension is enabled, and check that the host page URL exactly matches chatgpt.com (not chat.openai.com legacy redirects).

How many free reports do I get?

What happens to my prompt?

It's sent over HTTPS to FixMyPrompt's QA endpoint, scored by an AI model, and immediately discarded. We don't store it, log it, or train on it.

How do I sign in from the extension?

Click the toolbar icon, then Sign in. A browser tab opens a magic-link page. Click the link in your email, and the extension links itself to your account within a few seconds.

Is it really pay-as-you-go?

Yes. No subscription. Credit packs start at $2.99 and never expire. The free tier (3/day) is permanent.

Where do I report a bug?

Email tim.garver@gmail.com or open an issue on the extension's GitHub repo. Include the host site, your Chrome version, and a screenshot if possible.
